Charleston Training Center Has Moved!
Our training facility in North Charleston has relocated to a better location with ample parking. The new address is 8740 North Park Blvd. Suite 200, North Charleston, SC. This new location is only a couple of miles distant from the former Northside Drive location.
One note: If you are using a GPS navigation system to guide you, some (like mine) only recognize the address when entered as one word - "Northpark" Blvd. instead of "North Park" Blvd. Your experience may vary.
Online Registration
Registering for classes is easy! Just click on the Login button, log in and confirm your choices. A company account is available for companies using one person to enroll the company's attendees. A student account can be created if you need to enroll youself.
Pre-registration ensures you have a seat in the classes you select. When you complete a registration request, staff will review for accuracy and send you a verification email to confirm your registration. It's just like making a flight reservation.
Please remember to double-check the confirmation email for the correct information, especially the confirmed dates and times. It is sometimes necessary to modify the requested dates and times. The correct scheduling information will be reflected in the confirmation you receive from MASC via email or phone.

TAPPISAFE Training Available
Contractors working at pulp and paper mills that require specific TAPPISAFE safety training for working at those mills can take those classes in our MASC computer labs! NOW!
And, if you are a contractor and work at Kapstone Charleston and have or are taking the Basic Orientation PlusŪ/Refresher, you can substitute the BOP training for the TAPPISAFE general training requirement. In other words, you can go directly to the Kapstone Charleston site specific program once your BOP training record has been shared with the TAPPISAFE folks.
To learn more about saving time and money with this option, call the Charleston office (843-797-8820) or the Wilmington office (910-762-9557). We can help expedite the process.
Duke Energy PowerSafe Training
PowerSafe is a computer-based program designed to provide general safety orientation and Duke Energy FHO company specific training for the utility workforce. Duke Power requires completion of this training before contractors come on-site to work. Any contractor employee providing labor services in an industrial setting at Duke sites must complete PowerSafe training before arriving at the site to begin work.
These training classes are available at all of our Mid Atlantic Safety Council training centers. Preregistration is required. Call 910-762-9557 for more information!
What is SORT?
SORT stands for our Student Online Registration & Training management system. Create a company account to register students and manage their training, an individual student account to register yourself for MASC training, or if you represent an owner site or reciprocal safety council, you can create an account to look up student records.
Refresher Training At All Locations
The beauty of reciprocal basic safety orientations is that they are accepted at all of the MASC participating manufacturing and owner sites. You take one basic orientation, and it's good at more than 20 locations.
The basic safety orientation refresher, an annual event, is even better. Attendees cover the same data, but since they have successfully completed an instructor led class, they qualify to do the refresher via computer in one of our three computer labs. What takes five hours to cover in a classroom takes about two to cover with computer-based training. And like the classroom version, the Basic Orientation Plus® refresher is accepted at all MASC participating sites.
Need a Safety Orientation For Workers, Visitors or Both?
MASC has the ability to script safety orientation presentations! MASC personnel have been involved in the production of over fifty such orientations, in video, multimedia computer based training, and other formats.
Given staff experience with safety guidelines and sites across NC and SC, we already have identified topics that are frequently covered in these presentations. It doesn't take long to research your company's unique needs and craft a script for use with workers and visitors. In many cases, a visitor's orientation can be extracted from the coverage for contractors and other workers. You can get two beneficial orientations out of one project!
MASC has a relationship with a multimedia production company that can assist with higher end video and multimedia development projects. For more information, call either of our offices, or email our lead developer.
